@djsibel invite Stamina (@user-734093017) DJ turque basée à Berlin. Who are you? I’m Stamina, an engineer and multidisciplinary artist from Istanbul, now based in Berlin. Music has always been my passion—it was never a tool to reach somewhere. It’s a journey that has constantly grown and evolved naturally. I often say that I give my heart to music, and I view it as a full journey of self-expression. The music scene has deeply influenced both my personal and artistic development, and it’s the place where I truly find myself and express who I am. During my first year of university, I was lucky to meet some amazing friends who brought me into the music scene. They sparked a passion in me, and together, we started organizing big parties in Istanbul. These early experiences laid the foundation for my journey. One of my friends eventually began running RX Istanbul, the only techno club in Istanbul at the time, known for its proper sound system. At RX, we booked legendary artists and played a crucial role in building the scene. From 2020 to 2024, we helped shape Istanbul’s underground music culture, bringing in artists that had never played there before. Those years were formative for me, and I wouldn’t change them for anything. After moving to Berlin, I continued my journey by founding my label, Ziyan Records. At Ziyan Records, I combine my love for music and my technical background to create unique audio-visual projects for artists. Using tools like TouchDesigner and audio analysis, I translate the textures and essence of their sound into dynamic visuals. Each visual project is tailored to the artist’s music, with the goal of enhancing their tracks through a visual interpretation of how the music resonates in my mind. These visuals are shared on social media and music platforms to help support the artists’ music. I also DJ in clubs across Berlin and other cities in Germany. For me, it’s all about pure passion—growing with people who share the same love for music. Despite my background in engineering, music remains a space where I can keep both my technical and creative sides in balance, constantly evolving. How would you describe your mix? I always focus on creating an atmosphere in my mixes, layering sounds to build a mental journey. This time, I choosed more organic, with a jungle influence tribal sounds that feels heated and alive. I prefer minimal, mental sounds over emotional ones, as I find it more engaging to construct a story-telling set. My goal is to let everyone flow at their own pace, almost like taking them on a mental journey where the music guides them through different phases. Which artists/producers inspire you? That’s a tough question because there are so many artists that inspire me, and the spectrum of electronic music is so wide. But, in general, the sounds of Drexciya and Basic Channel have had a significant impact on me. As for legends, Luke Slater, DVS1, Rødhåd, and Oscar Mulero are some artists whose work continues to inspire me. In terms of young artists, I’ve been really influenced by Rene Wise, Ignez, Quelza, and Phillipa Pacho – these artists are incredibly talented and have definitely shaped my own sound. As a producer, I’m particularly drawn to every period of Lewis Fautzi’s releases. What was your best moment on stage? My debut at Tresor New Faces stands out as one of my best moments on stage. It was a really stressful day, and I almost had to cancel my gig. But when I arrived at the club, I was able to let go of all the tension and completely zone in to the music. The sound system, lights and stage design were so immersive that i was fully focused and I couldn’t see the crowd clearly, but at some point, I started hearing cheers and words of encouragement. That interaction created a special synergy between me and the crowd, which motivated me even more. The more I smiled, the more they reacted, and it was just such a unique experience.
